On 13 March Paul Guest (immediate past President, Life Member and three-time Olympian) in front of a small but enthusiastic crowd, broke the 2,000m concept 2 ergometre world record for the 80-84 year old age category with a time of 7 minutes 26.6 seconds. Paul broke the old record by some 8 seconds. Paul has also held both the 70-74 and 75-79 world records. Paul was assisted by his Olympic rowing partner David Ramage who provided a pace partner for the first and last 500 metres, at a pace of 1 Min 50 Seconds per 500 metres.
