Australian Rowing Championships - Results of Final Day's Racing

Published Mon 29 Mar 2021

The results of the final day's racing concluded with the Interstate Regatta culminating in the Kings and Queens Cup.

Prior to that the Club Mens Coxless Four of Tony Lee, James Gardiner, James Meads and Guy Velik battled through to 5th place in the final against very strong opposition crews.

In the Iterstate Regatta:

  • Thea Adamson (racing for WA) came 6th in the Womens Scull for the Nell Slatter Trophy
  • Sam Osstendorp and Harry Cathcart along with coach, Tom Creber, were in the Victorian crew that came 3rd in the Mens Coxless Four for the Penrith Cup.  After holding second place behind Queensland for nearly the entire race, a very fast finishing NSW overhauled them in the last 100 metres.
  • Rosie Popa stroked the Victorian Womens Eight to a resounding victory in the Queens Cup, with NSW some 11+ seconds behind in 2nd place.
  • Past member, Ben Coombs was in the Victorian Kings Cup crew that held on from a fast finishing NSW to win the Kings Cup.

Very well done to all our athletes and coaches on your fine performances at the 2021 National Championships
