Congratulations to all our Banks members who travelled to Sydney for this year’s National Championships. The number of entries was considerable and has shown our resurgence of competing athletes has continued from last year. In addition, we have seen an increase in the numbers reaching the finals as well the very pleasing result of having members selected for State representation as well as National Representation.

Rosie Popa has continued her fantastic comeback to the sport and proving to be a prominent member of the Australian women's group for international competition. She is looking good for Olympic selection next year. Send messages and good wishes to Rosie whenever you can as I know she appreciates all the support she gets from her home club Banks.

This year we had a state representative in the Penrith Cup for lightweight men’s fours. James Crouch from Banks was a member of the winning crew. Congratulations to James. In addition, he was successful in the Open Lightweight four plus winning a silver medal in the Open Lightweight eight.

Then to cap it off we had two representatives in the Victorian Women’s eight. Mimi Ghali and Maddie Carmen. A couple of very excited young women. They came away with a bronze medal in the eight and also performed very well in the Women’s under 21 coxless pair, wining a silver medal. All this led to an invitation to trial for the Australian team to compete in the Trans-Tasman Challenge. Smiles all round.
